Data products are priced per thousand records (abbreviated "/M"). When you license a data list, you're accessing records from established data companies who compile, verify, and maintain their databases on an ongoing basis. These aren't static files — the underlying data suppliers invest heavily in data quality, verification, and enrichment. Pricing reflects the depth of the data, the source methodology, and the channels available.
What Data Suppliers Typically Include
The data companies behind these products maintain far more than just names and addresses. Depending on the supplier and product, records can include:
- Contact channels: Postal addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and digital match keys
- Demographics & firmographics: Age, income, gender, household size, company revenue, employee count, SIC/NAICS codes
- Behavioral data: Purchase history, transaction recency/frequency, product categories, spending levels
- Lifestyle & interest data: Hobbies, interests, lifestyle indicators, and psychographic segments
- Professional data: Job title, function, license type, specialty, years in practice, board certifications
- Geographics: State, county, city, ZIP, SCF, census tract, MSA, congressional district, and carrier route selections
Availability of specific data points varies by product. Our team will confirm exactly what's available for any list you're considering.
Common Pricing Add-Ons
Base pricing typically covers core records with standard selections. Additional channels and enhanced targeting may carry additional fees:
- Email append / email channel: $50–$150/M additional, depending on match rate and source
- Phone append / telemarketing channel: $25–$75/M additional
- Advanced selects: $5–$25/M per select (income range, purchase behavior, specialty, etc.)
- Multi-use or annual licensing: Varies by data owner — often 2–3x the single-use rate
- Data hygiene: NCOA, CASS, suppression processing — $2–$5/M or often included
- Digital audience matching: Onboarding to programmatic, social, or CTV platforms — varies by partner
Minimum Orders
Most data products have a minimum order of 3,000 to 5,000 records. Niche or specialty files may require higher minimums. Some suppliers offer flat-fee access for smaller counts. We'll confirm minimums and any setup fees for every product you request.
What Affects the Price
- Data source methodology: Compiled databases (aggregated from public records, directories, filings) typically cost less than response files (built from verified transactions and opt-ins)
- Targeting depth: More granular selections — behavioral triggers, purchase recency, professional credentials — cost more than broad demographic filters
- Data freshness: Real-time or recently verified records carry a premium over periodically updated files
- Channel availability: Multi-channel records (postal + email + phone) cost more than single-channel files
- Exclusivity & usage terms: Exclusive-use or unlimited-use licenses cost significantly more than standard one-time rental
- Volume: Larger orders may qualify for volume pricing from the data supplier
Why Our Service Is Free to You
List.Solutions is a data broker. When you purchase a list through us, the list owner pays us a commission (typically 20%) out of the standard rental price. You pay the same CPM rate whether you go direct or through us — but you get the benefit of our expertise, source-agnostic recommendations, and data processing at no extra cost. This is how the entire list brokerage industry works, and it's why smart marketers use brokers instead of contacting list owners individually.
